President's Message
We trust everyone has had a happy and healthy winter and spring. We are looking forward to the Golden State Coin Show in August and CSNAs meeting with our new Board and Officers. We will have a number of important agenda items to discuss.
At this time we have one newsworthy note to share with all CSNA members. As you are all aware. Dr. Thomas Fitzgerald has served our organization for the past 17 years as the Chairman of the CSNA Symposium. With deep regret I have accepted Dr. Tom's letter of resignation as Chairman of CSNAs Educational Symposium and Invitational Exhibits.
Tom feels that this is a very long time and believes the symposium needs new ideas and new leadership. So, with this in mind, we want to thank Tom for his many years of unselfish giving of himself, time, effort, and energy. We hate to see you go and we wish you the very best. We know we will still see you around.
Understanding we have a vacancy we must fill, we realized that we had the ideal person here in our organization to fill the vacancy, our very own Jim Hunt of Chula Vista, CA. Jim is an accomplished San Diego radio Talk Show Host conversing with Numismatists nationwide every week. His Talk Show speakers represent all facets of numismatics. After speaking with Jim, he graciously accepted to be CSNAs Symposium Chairman. We are looking forward to Jim's first Program in 2004. It should be as well received as all previously presented.
One other office that I have filled since we last talked is that of Director of Public Relations/Publicity. Mr. Stan Turrini of Vallejo, CA has agreed to take on this chore. Stan brings into this office years of expertise in which these skills will forward to the greater numismatic press all of CSNAs activities. I am looking forward to CSNAs new exposure in California and our nation.
Welcome aboard Jim and Stan.
The Golden State Coin Show Committee of 6 met in May and finalized all open activities necessary for our (CSNA & NASC) show on 23-24 August, 2003, at 50 West Duarte Rd. in Arcadia, CA. Mark and adjust your calendars, this is going to be another winner. See you in Arcadia.
Numismatically yours,
